Exams Postponed Due to COVID-19

After the increase in the number of Corona Virus cases in India, Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Naredndra Modi has announced a lockdown for three weeks (i.e. from 25 March to 14 April 2020). This step has been taken to break the cycle of the COVID-19 spread among the citizens of India. The whole nation is under complete lockdown, and people are advised to maintain social distancing. 

Exams Postponed Due to COVID-19

In this emergency situation, numerous precautionary steps are being taken by the central as well as state governments in the larger public interest. The government has postponed all un-essential services, and the common life has come been affected. A lot of government and private exams have also come to a halt/been postponed. The authorities have postponed many scheduled exams considering the safety of candidates. Entrance exams like the RBI Assistant Mains exam, Karnataka Bank PO Interview, and SEBI Grade A Phase I exams have been postponed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19.

Here we are providing the list of various exams that have been canceled due to the spread of Corona Virus in India:

School Examinations (1-8)

Many schools, both private and government, have announced that the exams have been canceled and the students (class I – VIII) will be promoted to the next class without appearing for the examination, seeing the current situation in the country.

CBSE board exams

The CBSE has postponed all the remaining board exams of classes X and XII which were scheduled to be held between 19- 31 March.

ICSE and ISC board exams

The ICSE has postponed all the remaining board exams of classes X and XII which were scheduled to be held between 19 – 31 March. The ICSE has not released the new schedule yet. 

JEE Main

The JEE exam was supposed to be held between 5 and 11 April, but considering the outbreak of Corona Virus in India, NTA has postponed the exam. The new schedule for the JEE Main 2020 has not been released yet. The students will be informed about the new schedule via email and SMS once the situation betters. 

UPSSSC Junior Clerk & Assistant Exam

These exams were scheduled to be held between 18 March to 26 March but have been postponed. The conducting body has not released the new schedule yet.

UPSC Civil Services personality tests

The UPSC had scheduled the Personality Tests (interviews) for all the candidates between 23 March 2020, to 03 April 2020. These tests have been postponed due to the deadly coronavirus pandemic. The new schedule has not been released yet.

Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC)

The KPSC had scheduled all the written exams and interviews for all the candidates on 12 April 2020. These tests have been postponed due to the deadly coronavirus pandemic. The new schedule will be announced later.

MAH MCA CET 2020

This exam was scheduled for 28 March 2020 and has been postponed without any news regarding the rescheduling.

ITBP Constable Recruitment Exam

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) recruitment exam has been postponed due to the spread of COVID_19. The ITBP Constable Recruitment Exam was scheduled to be held on 22 March 2020. The candidates who had applied for this exam can call on 011-24369482/24369483 between 9:30 AM to 6 PM on the weekdays (Monday – Friday) for any assistance.

BPSC Assistant Engineer Recruitment Exam

The conducting body of the Assistant Engineer Recruitment Exam (Bihar Public Service Commission) has announced that these exams which were scheduled to be held on March 21, 22, 28, & 29 have been postponed. The new schedule will be released soon by the BPSC.

Karnataka SSLC Exam

The Karnataka PUC II Exams 2020 was conducted amidst the outbreak and ended on 23 March 2020. However, the SSLC Exam which was set to be held from 27 March 2020 to 09 April 2020, has been postponed until further notice from the conducting body.

RBI Assistant 2020 Mains Exam 

The RBI AM exam is considered one of the most sought after exams in India and was set to be held on 29 March 2020, but with considering the spread of the pandemic, it has been postponed without any announcement regarding the new dates. The new schedule will be announced on the official website of RBI.

Karnataka Bank PO 2020 Interview 

The interview for the Karnataka Bank PO was set to be held from 16 March to 24 March 2020. The conducting authority has not released the new dates yet.

SEBI Grade A 2020 

The Security and Exchange Board of India was conducting the recruitment of Grade A officers which has been rescheduled as given below:

Exim Bank Manager Exam 

The Exim Bank Manager Exam was scheduled to be held on 22 March 2020 but has been postponed due to the pandemic. The authorities have not announced any updates regarding it but are expected to release the new schedule soon. 

The COVID-19 has emerged as a threat to the whole humankind. In these tough times, the authorities are putting all their efforts to maintain the security of the citizens. The postponing and cancellation of the exams is for the greater good. As quoted by the honorable PM “जान है तो जहान है” which means, “If you have life, you have the world”. The students must not panic in this situation and utilize this time to prepare for their examination. The students can view this as an added time for their exams and make the best use of it. Stay at home and prepare well for your examinations!
