Time duration of the exam 3 hours (180 minutes)
Total number of questions asked 65
Total marks in the exam 100
Type of questions in the exam
  • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) &
  • Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions
Marking scheme
  • For 1-mark MCQs, 1/3 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer
  • In case of 2-marks MCQs, 2/3 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer
  • For unanswered questions, zero marks will be given
  • There will be no negative marking for numerical answer type (NAT) questions

Cut off is the minimum marks required to qualify for the examination by which candidates will get admission in the IITs for M.E/ or PhD (Doctorate in Philosophy).
