The Institute for Selection of Banking Personnel issued its announcement for engaging specialist IBPS 2018 for 1,599 vacancies. The IBPS SO test form has been changed, and a section in time has been introduced in Prelims this year. The selection process consists of three stages, namely, Prelims, Mains & Interview. The exam is scheduled for December 29 and 30, 2018. For candidates who want to be part of the banking sector as a specialist, IBPS SO Examination is one of the best opportunities for them. New Changes Introduced in the IBPS SO Examination that is:

  • The exam conducting authority introduced sectional timing for Prelims examination.
  • Candidates need to qualify now for each section and each section has their own cut off and as well an overall cut off is prepared by the conducting authority.
  • For each incorrect answer, 1/4 marks will be deducted in the Objective Tests.
  • For appearing in the mains exam, candidates first need to appear in Prelims first.
  • Those who selected or cleared IBPS SO Prelims will appear in the main examination. The selection is based upon the performance in the prelims exam and minimum cut off.
  • In mains exam only professional knowledge subjects questions, those who cleared who will go for the interview process.
  • Prelims exam will not be included in the final merit list, So candidates need to only clear prelims examination.
  • As well mains marks also used for shortlisting the candidates for the interview process, those scores higher they will call for the interview process.

IBPS SO Interview Process

  • Those who successfully cleared IBPS SO Common Written examination, to be eligible for the interview process.
  • The participating banks and coordinated by the nodal banks with the help of IBPS will organize the interview for final selection which is carrying a total of 100 marks.
  • For General candidates, minimum qualifying marks are 40% only and for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates it is only 35%.

Final Selection Process for IBPS SO Examination

A final merit list will be prepared by the conducting authority for the selected candidates on the basis of the total marks or score obtains by candidates in the Written Test + Interview. The weighted ratio among CWT or interview process is 80:20. Candidates who cleared both the examination will become a successful specialist officer in the participating public sector bank. It is advised to the candidates score higher marks, as some new changes introduced so the cut-off will goes higher.
