JoSAA will starts JEE Main counseling in 2nd week of June 2019 which will be available via online mode only. MHRD previously announced that JEE Main will be conducted twice in a year from now. JEE Main 2019 is the national level engineering entrance examination which is conducted by the NTA i.e popularly known as National Testing Agency. Every year JEE Main will be conducted to provide admission into the B.E/B. Tech and B.Plan/B. Arch programmes which are offered by the top engineering institution across India i.e. IITs, NITs, and GFTIs. JEE Main Score will be the main requirement to get admission in these colleges. JEE Main is also the gateway towards getting appeared in JEE Advanced 2019 Examination. As JEE Main Counseling Process will be done by the JoSAA which is counseling conducting authority. JoSAA is known as Joint Seat Allocation Authority.

JEE Main Counseling

Once NTA will declare JEE Main Result the counseling process will starts for JEE Main 2019. The counseling process will organized via online mode only. JoSAA will be responsible for JEE Main Counseling 2019.

CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) will organize filling of the vacant seat which is followed by seven rounds.

The counseling process will follow various steps which are given below:

JEE Main Counselling Schedule 2019

For January session JEE Main Result will be declared on 31st January 2019 and For April session, it will be declared on 30th April 2019. After the successful declaration of JEE Main Result, Counseling process will be started from June 2019.

JEE Main Counseling Procedure

Counseling procedure will be divided into various steps. Here we have listed all the steps with detailed information:

Online Registration:

Before going to be a part of JEE main Counseling procedure candidates need to appear in the registration process for Counseling. Candidates need to register by visiting the official website of JoSAA. Log in through your JEE Main 2019 roll number and password then fill all the necessary details into the registration form, once you have filled all the details carefullyclick on the “Confirm Registration” button.

Choice Filling & Locking:

The most important steps for candidates, in this steps candidates, need to select maximum choices for the seat allotment. Whatever you can please select and give preference to them which is your favorite and as per your JEE Main Score. Once you have filled all the choice and filled the maximum choice don’t forget to lock your choice then finally click on the saved choice button.

Provisional Seat Allotment:

A provisional seat will be allotted to the Candidates according to their filled choices.  Candidates need to take a printout of the “Provisional Seat Allocation Letter” and e-challan for seat acceptance.

If candidates want to participate in the next round then candidates need to freeze their seats which are allotted to them in this first round.

Seat Acceptance & Fee Payment:

For general candidates need to pay the Rs 45000/- on behalf of seat acceptance fee and A reserved categories candidates need to pay Rs. 20,000/- on behalf of seat acceptance fee. The acceptance fee can be paid via e-challan & SBI net banking. Those who paid acceptance fee through e-challan need to take a printout for future reference

Candidates need to visit in the reporting centers and need to followed below-listed steps:

Reporting to the Allotted College:

If a seat will be allowed to the candidates then candidates need to reach in the allotted colleges for the confirmation and need to bring their original documents along with them.

Documents Required for Verification

Once the candidate accepts the seats and pays the acceptance fees then candidates need to appear in the reporting centre for seat acceptance confirmation. For this procedure, candidates need to bring their original documents along with a set of self-attested photocopies.

Once your documents will be verified by the reporting authority, Authority will return your original documents. Candidates need to carry below-given documents for verification:

  • Three passport size photographs (same as uploaded in the JEE Main application)
  • Provisional seat allotment letter
  • Undertaking by the candidate
  • Proof of seat acceptance fee payment
  • Photo ID card (issued by govt./last attended school/12th class admit card)
  • JEE Main admit card 2019
  • JEE Main scorecard 2019
  • Date of birth proof (10th class mark sheet)
  • 12th class mark sheet & passing certificate (if available)
  • Medical certificate
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • PwD certificate (if applicable)
  • OCI certificate or PIO card
  • Registration-cum-locked choices for seat allotment
