JoSAA will start JEE Main Counselling after the release of the JEE Main Results which will be available via online mode only. The counseling is the seat allotment process in which the organizers check the documentation of the students and provide them seats in the colleges as per their ranking.   • The counseling process is expected to begin in April 2021.
  • The counseling process will be organized via online mode only. JoSAA will be responsible for JEE Main Counselling 2021.
  • JoSAA conducts the counseling for both JEE Main Exam and JEE Advanced.
  • CSAB NEUT is organized for supernumerary seats in the North East and Union Territories.
  • CSAB SFTI is an exclusive counseling process organized by the Central Seat Allocation Board for 18 SFTIs.
  • The participating institutes in the counseling are- 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 27 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes.

JEE Main Counselling Schedule

The JEE Main 2021 Result will be declared after the successful conduction of the examination and the Cutoff marks will be released along with it. The JEE Main 2021 Counselling process might start from August 2021 and will be held online. The tentative dates regarding the counseling process are tabulated below:

JEE Main Counselling Procedure

The counseling procedure will be divided into various steps. Here we have listed all the steps with detailed information:

1. Online Registration:

To participate in the JEE main Counselling procedure, the candidates must register themselves for counselling. Candidates can register by visiting the official website of JoSAA. Log in through your JEE Main roll number and password and then fill all the necessary details into the registration form. Once you have filled all the details carefully, click on the “Confirm Registration” button.

2. Choice Filling & Locking:

The most important step for candidates is the choice filling. In this step, the candidates need to choose which college do they want to apply for. Once you have carefully selected your choices, click on the save choice button.

3. Provisional Seat Allotment:

A provisional seat will be allotted to the candidates according to their filled choices.  Candidates need to take a printout of the “Provisional Seat Allocation Letter” and draft an e-challan for seat acceptance. If the candidate wants to participate in the next round, then they must freeze their seats which are allotted to them in this first round.

4. Seat Acceptance & Fee Payment:

The general candidates need to pay Rs 45000/-for the seat acceptance whereas a reserved category candidate needs to pay Rs. 20,000/- for the same. The acceptance fee can be paid via e-challan & SBI net banking. Those who have paid the acceptance fee through e-challan must take a printout for future reference.

5. Reporting at the Allotted Reporting Centre for Verification:

6. Reporting to the Allotted College:

If a seat is allotted to a candidate, then they must reach the allotted college for the confirmation and must carry their original documents along with them. We have listed the documents that a candidate must carry with them for verification:
