The SBI Clerk exam is conducted by the State Bank of India (SBI). It is one of the most popular banking exams in the country, and more than thousands of candidates appear for the exam annually. The main aim of this exam is to recruit candidates for the post of Junior Associates (Customer Support and Sales) in various SBI branches.

SBI Clerk Exam Overview

  • The SBI will release the exam notification 2022 in the 1st week of May 2022.
  • The SBI Clerk application form 2022 will be made available after the release of the official notification.
  • Candidates with a graduate degree between 20 and 28 years are eligible to appear for the exam.
  • The selection process happens in two stages: Preliminary and Mains exams.
  • Candidates applying for the exam must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the opted language of that state/UT/specified area.
  • The test for knowledge of the opted local language will be part of the selection process and will be conducted after the candidates have cleared the exam. However, it will happen before the candidates have joined the bank.
  • Those who clear the exam are eligible for a monthly basic pay of INR 19,900. 
  • Those who are recruited can work as cashiers, appearing depositors, etc.

SBI Clerk Application Process

SBI Clerk application form 2022 will be released online. The application process includes- registration, uploading a scanned photograph and signatures, filling out the application form, uploading a left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration.

Step 1: Go to the SBI Clerk Official website.

Step 2: Click the ‘Click Here for New Registration’ tab.

Step 3: Fill in your name, mobile number, email ID, etc.

Step 4: Registration number and password are generated

Step 5: Upload your scanned photograph and signature.

Step 6: Enter personal details, work experience, educational qualification, etc.

Step 7: Click on “submit.”

SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2022

SBI announces the SBI Clerk eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria include age, educational qualification, and nationality.

Nationality

  • The candidates must be Indian citizens Or
  • Bhutan/Nepal/Bangladesh citizens with a valid certificate issued by the GOI.

Age Limit

  • The candidates must be between 20 and 28 years
  • There is a relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to the reserved category.

Educational Qualification

  • The candidates must have a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree.
  • Those who have completed an integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate can also apply for the exam.

Note: Those in the final year\semester can also apply for the exam provisionally. However, they need to submit proof of passing the exam on or before the joining date.

Filling SBI Clerk Application Form

Interested candidates must fill the registration form available on the official website. The application fee for the General and OBC categories is INR 750. However, candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS candidates are exempted from paying the registration fees.

Release of Admit Card

The SBI Clerk admit card will be released for prelims and main exam separately on the official website. To download the hall ticket, you need to enter your registration number or roll number and date of birth or password. 

Appearing in SBI Clerk Exam

Appearing for the exam is the first stage in the SBI selection process. Here are a few things you need to know:

  • The preliminary exam includes MCQs for 100 marks.
  • The SBI Clerk Mains question paper includes four sections, and the total marks of the test are 200. The total time to answer all the questions is 1 hour.
  • Candidates 10 times the number of vacancies are selected for the mains exam.
  • Candidates are required to score minimum percentage marks on aggregate. However, there is a 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates.
  • The merit list is prepared state-wise and category-wise.
  • Those who clear the Mains exam are placed according to their aggregate marks in the list, in descending order, as per their respective states and categories.

 Declaration of Result 

The SBI Clerk result will be released online after the successful commencement of the exam. Candidates must score the required category-wise and state-wise SBI Clerk cutoff marks to clear the exam. 

Test of Specified Opted Local Language

Those who clear the main exam must appear for the test. Those who have cleared the exam must appear for the specified local language opted while applying for the exam. Candidates who do not clear the opted local language will be disqualified from the recruitment process.

Note: Those who have studied the specified opted language in Classes 10, and 12 need not appear for the language test.

Final Selection

Those who clear the opted local language test and get their documents verified will be called for the final selection round. The marks scored in the preliminary exam will not be considered for selection. The SBI clerk merit list is based on the marks scored in the Mains exam. 

SBI Clerk Exam Centre

The exam will be conducted in more than 150 cities. Candidates need to choose one SBI Clerk exam centre while filling the registration form. The exam centres are allotted to candidates as per their choice. The exam centre details will be mentioned on the admit card.
