SSC CGL Merit List

The SSC CGL Final Merit List is prepared based on the combined four Tier exam results. This result is usually available for download within two to three months of the last Tier exam. The list contains certain details such as the Roll Number of the candidate, Name, Rank, and Overall marks. It is also important to know that the overall marks of candidates are displayed here irrespective of whether they have obtained the required cutoffs or not.

At times, there are also possibilities for a tie score between candidates in the final merit list. In cases where more than two candidates obtain the same overall combined score, then priority will be given to one who has scored more in the written test, which is the Tier 3 exam.

If the situation still remains unresolved, then the marks of candidates in Tier 1 or Tier 2 exam are considered in order to prepare the mark list accordingly.

However, when candidates perform and obtain similar marks in all the Tier exams, then their date of birth is compared, and the older candidate will be given preference over the other. Further on, there is also a chance of candidates being of the same age in such a scenario. So, the SSC ranks the candidates alphabetically while preparing the rank list.

SSC CGL Answer Key

The SSC CGL Answer Keys are usually released on the website before the results are declared.

The Answer Keys are in a downloadable format and can be obtained by providing the required details such as the Roll number from the particular Answer Key link on the official website. To confirm if it is the right answer key,  a candidate can verify it with the specific test form number, exam date, and time. While checking the Answer Keys, candidates can also check their Response sheets of Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams (online mode) and compare their answers with the Answer Key accordingly. Any official answer to any question can be challenged here, for a fee of Rs. 100 per answer.

With the help of Answer Keys, candidates can easily calculate an estimate of their total marks and compare it with the required cut off’s. This helps to understand and be prepared either to write the next Tier exam or to not.

SSC CGL Cut off

The SSC CGL cut-off score is basically a parameter to select those candidates with high ranks in the merit list for further rounds of selection processes. Hence, the candidates need to score the required cut-off for the Tier 1 exam in order to be shortlisted for Tier 2 and then for Tier 3 and Tier 4, subsequently.

Now, the SSC CGL cut-off depends on a variety of factors such as the number of candidates, the difficulty level of the exam, region-wise vacancies, and previous years’ cutoffs of the SSC CGL exam. Some of the major posts for which candidates are recruited include Assistant Audit Officer or Assistant Account Officer, Compilers, Statistical Investigators Grade-II, Inspectors, Sub Inspectors (Group B) posts, etc.

Now, the cutoff score of Tier 2 is based on the marks obtained in Paper 1 and Paper 2.  However, for Statistical Investigator and Assistant Audit Officer (AAO) posts, the marks obtained in Paper 3 and 4 are considered.
