Introduction

UPBED conducts the UPTET exam to recruit teachers at various public schools in the state of Uttar Pradesh. UP Government has announced notification for the recruitment of Assistant Teachers for various junior schools in the state. The date for the release of admit card for the UPTET 2024 exam is not confirmed yet.

Update: The UPTET Exam Dates have been moved from November 2024 to January 2024. The exam will be held offline in two sessions for Paper 1 and Paper 2.

UPTET Eligibility Criteria 2024

Here in this section, we have shared the details about the UPTET Eligibility Criteria for the 2024 examination in detail.

UPTET Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

Candidates who are legal citizens of India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet are eligible to apply for the UPTET examination.

UPTET Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit and Maximum Attempts

Candidates between 18 years and 35 years can apply for the UPTET examination. There is no limit to the number of attempts a candidate can take for the UPTET examination 2024.

UPTET Eligibility Criteria: Education Qualification

The UPTET education qualifications for Paper I and Paper II, which are required to apply for the UPTET examination, are listed below.

UPTET Paper 1 Education Qualification (Primary Teachers)

The candidates need to have a minimum of any one of the following qualifications to apply for the UPTET Paper 1 examination:

  • Candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a UGC-recognized college or university. However, after graduation, the candidates must have pursued a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd). Candidates in their final year of DElEd can also apply for the UPTET exam.
  • Candidates should have graduated and cleared the BTC for distance education so Shiksha Mitra can apply. Candidates in their final year of college can also apply.
  • To be eligible for the examination, candidates must have graduated from a UGC-recognized university and hold a two-year Diploma in Education (D.Ed). Candidates in their final year of D.Ed can also apply for the UPTET exam.
  • Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% in their UG or PG. The candidates should also have pursued a BEd.
  • Candidates should have graduated with a BTC in Urdu. Candidates in their final year are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates should be graduates and also possess a diploma in teaching from Aligarh Muslim University.
  • Candidates should be graduates and must have acquired the degree of Moavill-E-Urdu before August 8, 1997.
  • Candidates must have completed their Class 12 with a minimum grade point average of 50%. Along with this, candidates should have also completed the four-year-long Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd) program.

UPTET Paper 2 Education Qualification (Upper-Primary Teachers)

The candidates need to have a minimum of any one of the following qualifications to apply for the UPTET Paper 1 examination:

    • Candidates should have graduated from a recognized college or university. Candidates should also have completed a two-year DElEd (BTC).
    • Candidates should be UG or PG with a minimum grade of 50%. Candidates should also have completed their B.Ed or B.Ed Special Education. Candidates in the final year of B.Ed or B.Ed Special Education are also eligible to apply.
    • Candidates should have completed their Class 12 with a minimum of 50%. Candidates should also complete a four-year-duration BScEd or BSc BEd from a UGC/National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) recognised institution. Candidates in the final year of BScEd or BSc B.Ed are also eligible to apply.
    • Candidates should have completed their Class 12 with a minimum of 50%. Candidates should have also completed a four-year BElEd. Candidates in the final year of B.El.Ed is also eligible to apply.
    • Candidates should be graduated with a minimum of 50% marks and have a one-year durational B.Ed. Candidates in their final year of B.Ed are also eligible to apply.

Criteria to Obtain UPTET Eligibility Certificate

  • Candidates who have scored 60% and above in the UPTET exam 2024 will get the UPTET eligibility certificate.
  • The reserved category candidates need to score a minimum of 55% to clear the exam and get the UPTET eligibility certificate.
