GATE ME Exam 2023 consisted of 65 (multiple choice and numerical answer type) questions for a total of 100 marks in the first shift. 55 questions were related to the subject whereas 10 were from General Aptitude. The exam was conducted in two shifts.

GATE ME Paper Analysis 2024
Forenoon Session
- The difficulty level of the examination was medium to easy
- The General Aptitude Section was fairly easy
- Maths section was difficult as compared to last year
- Conceptual questions were asked from Design Topics
- 20+ time taking and lengthy questions were asked from Numerical Ability
- 2 questions from Vibration Section were confusing
- 2 or 1 questions from Trusses, Metrology, Forming, Sheet Metal, Convention, Radiation, Heat Exchanger, and LMTD
Afternoon Session
- The difficulty level of this exam of GATE 2023 was Medium to Tough
- General Aptitude Section was comparatively very easy from previous year
- The thermal section was very easy
- Questions from SOM and Production were very tough and took a lot of time to solve
- There were 30 questions from NAT
- There were 16 marks questions from Manufacturing
- There were 12 marks questions from Thermodynamics
- There were fewer questions from TOM as compared to last year
