How to fill JEE Main Application Form 2024
Form-filling comprises various stages like registration, uploading documents, submitting application fees, etc. The application forms submitted after the last date are not considered. The filled-in application form is submitted through online mode only. Students are allowed to fill out the application form online. No hard copy of the application form is accepted.
The JEE Main exam dates 2024 for both sessions were announced by NTA. The filling of JEE Main application form consists of the steps given below:
- Visit the official JEE Main/NTA website
- Registration
- Filling the Application form
- Uploading Images
- Fee payment
- Book your slots for the exam
- Take a printout of the acknowledgment page to complete the application submission process.
Step- 1 Registration
- Visit the official website of JEE Main.
- On the website homepage, click on the “Apply for JEE (Main)-2024” under “New Candidate Registration.”
- After clicking “Apply for JEE Main Exam“, an instruction page will open on the screen.
- Students are advised to read the instructions carefully before filling out the application form.
- After reading the instructions, click on the “I have to download Information Bulletin and read all the instructions”.
- Then further click on “Proceed to Apply Online”.

- State of Eligibility
- Select Identification Type
- Enter Identification Number
- Candidate’s Name
- Date of Birth

Once done, click on the Submit button

In this section, students must fill in the details related to the Mode of Examination, Question Paper Medium, and their desired course.
A student can select any one of the following options:

- The mode of examination is online only. Candidates are required to select the exam centers at their convenience.

Students can choose any one-question paper medium from English/ Hindi/ Gujarati.

Fill in the personal details such as

Academic Details
Enter the following academic details:
- Year of passing class 10th or equivalent
- School Board of class 12th/qualifying examination
- Name of the qualifying exam passed/appearing
- Place of class 12th/qualifying exam schooling
- Year of passing or appearing in class 12th/Qualifying exam
- Type of institution of class 12th/Qualifying exam
- Percentage of marks in class 12th/Qualifying exam
- Roll number of class 12th/Qualifying exam
- Appeared/Appearing for improvement of class 12th/Qualifying exam in all the 4/5 subjects as per the scheme of the board
- Mode of preparation
- Name of the college/school from where passed/appearing
- Address of the school/college from where passed or appearing
Mailing Address Details
Enter the following details:
- Country
- State
- District
- Address
- Locality
- City/town/village
- Pin Code
- Email address
- Mobile number
- Landline number
Guardian Details
Enter the following guardian details:
- Father’ s/Guardian’s qualification
- Father’ s/Guardian’s Occupation
- Father’ s/Guardian’s annual income
- Mother’s qualification
- Mother’s occupation
- Mother’s annual income
Choose Password
In this step, students must choose a password, security question, and security answer.
Password Specifications
- Password must be 8 to 13 characters long
- It must have at least one upper case, one lower case alphabet, and one numeric value.
- The password should also have one special character from these special characters – !@#$%^&*-
- Click on the Next button
Verification of Contact Details
In this step, the Email ID and Mobile number must be verified. Students are required to verify all the details before uploading the images.
- Candidates have to verify their submitted mobile number and email address.
- OTP will be sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number, and after submitting the number, students have to confirm their email ID.
Step- 3 Scanning and Uploading Documents for JEE Main
After verifying the details, candidates must click on the Upload Scanned Images button. The uploaded documents are the candidate’s Photograph and Signature. Both the scanned images should be in JPG/ JPEG format.
Photograph
- The photograph should be passport size with the name and date of taking it
- The photograph can be colored or black/ white with a clear background
- Spectacles are allowed, but a Polaroid photograph is not acceptable
- The image size should be 3.5 X 4.5 cm (width x height).
- The file size should be more than 4 kb and less than 40 kb.
Signature
- Students have to take the signature on a white page only
- The box size of the signature should be 3.5 X 1.5 cm
- The file size should not be less than 1 kb and not more than 30 kb
Step- 4 Payment of JEE Main Application Fee
- Students must pay the application fees after filling in all the details and uploading the necessary documents.
- The fees can be paid via credit card/ debit card/ Paytm or in cash via Syndicate/ Canara/ ICICI bank through e-challan.
- Once the application fee is paid, it cannot be refunded.
- After successful payment, students have to select the exam date and book their slot.
- Students are advised to download and take the printout of the filled-in application form for future reference.
