IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit, Qualifications, Experience

A certain set of guidelines in terms of educational qualification, age, and nationality. Before filling the IBPS RRB Application form, candidates are advised to go through the IBPS RRB eligibility criteria.

IBPS RRB Eligibility

RRB Eligibility – Nationality

  • Individuals should be a citizen of India or subjects of Nepal or Bhutan.
  • An individual from Tibet who came to India with the expectation of for all time settling here or  
  • An individual of Indian origin who has moved from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African nations of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (some time ago Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.

RRB Eligibility – Age Limit

  • For Office Assistant (Multipurpose)- Age must within the range of 18-28 years.
  • For Officer Scale, I (Assistant Manager) – Age must within the range of 18-30 years.
  • For Officer Scale-II (Manager) – Age must within the range of 21-32 years.
  • For Officer Scale- III (Senior Manager) – Age must within the range of 21-40 years.

Widows, Divorced women & women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried (for the post of Office Assistants) 9
Persons ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period January 1, 1980, to December 31, 1989 5
Persons affected by 1984 riots 5

RRB Eligibility – Educational Qualification

Post Educational Qualification Experience
Office Assistant (Multipurpose) Degree in any discipline. Proficiency in the local language. Knowledge of Computer skills. Not Required
Officer Scale-I Degree in any discipline. Degree in Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, IT, Management, Law, Economics, and Accountancy will be given preference.

Proficiency in the local language. Knowledge of Computer skills.

Not Required
Officer Scale-II General Banking Officer Degree with a minimum of 50% marks.

Preference to Degree holders in Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, IT, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.

2 Years in a Bank or Financial Institution
Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (IT) Degree in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / IT with a minimum of 50% marks Certification in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP, etc. will be given preference. 1 Year
Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (CA) Certified Associate from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. 1 Year
Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (LA) Degree with a minimum of 50% marks. 2 years in Banks or Financial Institutions
Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (Treasury Manager) Certified Associate from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India OR MBA in Finance. 1 Year
Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (Marketing) MBA in Marketing. 1 Year
Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (Agriculture) Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Dairy, Animal Husbandry, Forestry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture with a minimum of 50% marks. 2 Years
Officer Scale-III Degree with a minimum of 50% marks. Degree/Diploma in Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, IT, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy will be given preference. Minimum 5 years in any Bank or Financial Institution

IBPS RRB Eligibility for Person with Disability

  • Visually Impaired – This includes candidates with total blindness visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen).
  • Deaf and Hearing Impaired – This includes candidates experiencing a total loss of hearing ability in both ears.
  • Orthopedically Challenged – Candidates who have a locomotor disability or cerebral palsy.
