Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate applying for the scholarship must be studying in the post-matriculation level 
  • The annual salary of the family should not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh.
Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Punjab
  • The candidate applying for the scholarship must be studying in the post-matriculation level 
  • The annual salary of the family should not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh.
Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Punjab
  • The student applying for the scholarship must be studying in Class I to X 
  • The annual salary of the applicant’s family should not exceed INR 50,000.
Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Punjab
  • The student applying for the scholarship must be studying in Class IX to X 
  • The annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh.
  • The applicants who are already receiving any other centrally-funded scholarship/scholarships will are not eligible
Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities, Punjab
  • The applicants belonging to the minority community like Sikhs, Parsis, Christians, Muslims, Jains, and Buddhists can apply for this scholarship.
  • The candidate applying for the scholarship must be studying in class 11 to PhD level at a government/ private school/university.
  • The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% in the previous examination.
  • The annual income of the family of the applicant should not exceed INR 1 Lakh.
Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minorities, Punjab
  • The applicants belonging to the minority community like Sikhs, Parsis, Christians, Muslims, Jains, and Buddhists can apply for this scholarship.
  • The candidate applying for the scholarship must be studying in class I to X at a government/ private school.
  • The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% in the previous examination.
  • The annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed INR 1 Lakh.
Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Minorities, Punjab
  • The applicants belonging to the minority communities like Sikhs, Parsis, Christians, Muslims, Jains, and Buddhists are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • The candidate applying for the scholarship must be studying in class 11 to PhD level at a government/ private school/university.
  • A minimum of 50% marks must be obtained by them in the last exam
  • The annual income of the family should not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh.
Attendance Scholarship for the BC/ EBC and Primary Girl Students in Punjab
  • Only female applicants studying in primary classes are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • The applicant must have a minimum of 75% attendance.
  • The parents/guardians of the applicant must not be income taxpayers and must have less than 5 acres of land.
  • The annual salary of the family should not be more than Rs. 1 Lakh.
Attendance Scholarship for SC Primary Girl Students, Punjab
  • Only female applicants studying in primary classes are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • The applicant must have a minimum of 75% attendance.
  • The parents/guardians of the applicant must not be income taxpayers and must have less than 5 acres of land.

Rewards and Grants

Each scholarship under the Punjab Scholarships offers different benefits to the students depending upon their level of education and the scholarship availed by them. The complete scholarship-wise list of benefit is mentioned below:

  • Books and Ad hoc grant of INR 750/year for day scholars and INR 1000/year for hostellers
  • Scholarship of INR 150 per month for day scholarship and INR 350 per month for hostellers
  • Additional allowance for disabled students
Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Punjab
  • Monthly maintenance allowance of up to INR 750 for hostellers and INR 350 for day scholars
  • Reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees
  • Monthly reader charges of up to INR 175 for visually impaired candidates
  • Study tour charges of up to INR 900/year
  • Thesis typing and printing charges of up to INR 1000
Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Punjab
  • For students of class 1 to 5 – Monthly scholarship of INR25
  • For students of class 9 and 10 – Monthly scholarship of INR50
  • For students of class 6 to 8 – Monthly scholarship of INR 40
  • An ad hoc grant of INR  500/year to each scholar
Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme
  • Students obtaining 60% – 70% marks in class 10 will get 70% fee waiver
  • While students obtaining 80% – 90% marks in class 10 will get 90% fee waiver
  • Students obtaining 70% – 80% marks in class 10 will get 80% fee waiver
  • Students obtaining 90% – 100% marks in class 10 will get a 100% fee waiver
Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minorities, Punjab
  • Maintenance allowance of INR 600 /month (class 6 to 10) for hostellers
  • Maintenance allowance of INR 100 /month for day scholars (class 1 to 10)
  • Admission fee of INR 500/year or actual (for class 6 to 10)
  • A tuition fee of INR 350 /month or actual (for class 6 to 10)
Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities, Punjab
  • Admission and tuition/course fee of up to INR 10,000/year
  • Maintenance allowance of up to INR 1200 /month for hostellers and an amount of INR 550 per month day scholars for 10 months
Attendance Scholarship for the BC/ BC/ EBC and Primary Girl students in Punjab
  • An amount of INR 50 per month to each student for 10 months duration.

How to apply for Punjab Scholarship?

The process of apply for the scholarship can be very taxing and confusing to the candidates. Before beginning the application process, the candidates must keep the following details and documents handy: 

  • Address proof of the parents/ guardians.
  • Attested Family Income Certificate
  • Attested mark sheets of the previous year’s examinations 
  • Caste certificate of both, the candidate and their parents.
  • Recent passport size photographs.

After collecting all the required (above-mentioned) documents, the candidates can follow the steps given below to apply for the scholarship:

  2. Click on the “Student Registration” tab
  3.  Now fill the details asked in the application form
  4. Upload the documents required in the prescribed format
