Groupon bought a company to come to India. He was CEO of Groupon India from 2011 to 2015. From 2013 to 2015, he also managed Groupon’s businesses in Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines. In Aug 2015, Groupon India’s bosses bought most of the company from Groupon. Sequoia Capital helped them. In Dec 2017, Nearbuy.com and Little App joined.
Ankur led the company until 2019 with two other bosses – Snehesh Mitra and Ravi Shankar. Paytm bought most of the joined company. After Ankur stepped down, Ravi Shankar became CEO, and Snehesh Mitra became COO. Before Groupon, Ankur worked for a company called Rocket Internet. He helped start Jabong.com for them. Before that, he started a few websites with another company, Accentium Web. He joined Accentium in 2007 while still working for Kearney. He moved to Accentium full-time in May 2009.
