SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit, Education Qualification

Candidates who wish to get selected for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police, Sub-Inspector in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF(Central Industrial Security Force) need to apply for SSC CPO Examination. Only eligible candidates can apply for SSC CPO Examination. Candidates who are looking to apply in the upcoming season, need to fulfill the eligibility criteria and other important details such as age limit, educational qualification, category-wise physical and medical standards.

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria 2024

Age Limit 

  • The candidate’s age must be greater than 20 years or less than 25 years as of 1st of January 2021 (20th is the minimum or 25th is the maximum age limit).
  • Candidates who were born on or between 02nd January 1996 to 01st January 2001 can also apply for SSC CPO Examination.
  • Candidates need to check these above-given details according to their Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate.
  • Candidates who belong to the special category will also get some age relaxation while applying for SSC CPOare given as below:

OBC 3 years
Ex-servicemen (ExS) 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the closing date.
For Group “B” posts:

(i) Central Government Civilian Employees who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on closing date.

5 years.
(ii) Central Government Civilian Employees (SC/ ST) who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on closing date. 10 (5+5) years.
For ASI in CISF:

(i) Central Govt. Civilian Employees who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on closing date

Up to 40 years of age
(ii) Central Govt. Civilian Employees (SC/ ST) who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on closing date Up to 45 years of age
Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989. 5 years
For Group „C‟ posts only: (i) Widows/ Divorced Women/ Women judicially separated and who are not remarried. Up to 35 years of age
(ii) Widows/ Divorced Women/ Women judicially separated and who are not remarried (SC/ ST ) Up to 40 years of age
Departmental Candidates for vacancies in Delhi Police only: (i) Departmental Candidates (Unreserved) who have rendered not less than 3 years of regular and continuous service as on closing date. Up to 30 years of age
(ii) Departmental Candidates (OBC) who have rendered not less than 3 years of regular and continuous service as on closing date. Up to 33 years of age
(iii) Departmental Candidates (SC/ ST) who have rendered not less than 3 years of regular and continuous service as on closing date. Up to 35 years of age

SSC CPO Educational Qualification Criteria 2024

Candidates must be passed or appearing in the final year of graduation/Diploma and Certificates/Technical Certificates/Degree from a recognized authority can apply for the SSC CPO Examination as of 01st August 2018 (Those who are appearing must have the Passing certificates at the time of joining).

Driving License Qualification (only for Delhi Police SI)

Candidates (Male Only) who are applying for the post of SI in Delhi Police must have a valid driving license for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) as on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests. All those who fail to do this on the date of PET as mentioned in the call letter will not be allowed to the attempt SSC CPO Examination.

Physical Standards

Candidates who clear the first phase of the SSC CPO Examination i.e. Paper I. will be called for the PET/ PST or Medical Examination. Candidates can check the below-given eligibility criteria for PST/PET Examination for both males and females:

Note: Candidates’ weight should be measured according to the heights only for all the CPO posts.
