MAT Eligibility Criteria 2024: Age, Qualification & More

The conducting body of the Management Aptitude Test 2024, i.e., the AIMA (All India Management Association) prescribes the eligibility criteria for the candidates appearing in the exam. The eligibility criteria for MAT have already been released with the official notification of MAT 2024. Only the candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria will be allowed to appear for the examination. MAT Exam 2024 Latest Updates

  • MAT exam 2024 is scheduled to be conducted from February 2024 to March 2024 via three modes: Internet Based Test (IBT); CBT MAT; and PBT MAT.
  • MAT Registration 2024 has started for March Session.
  • The MAT Applicaton form was released on  December, 2024.
  • The PBT MAT exam will be conducted on March .
  • IBT MAT exam will be conducted from February 2024 to March  2024.
  • The CBT MAT exam date is yet to be announced.

MAT Eligibility Criteria

It is always suggested that the candidates check the eligibility criteria of the examination before filling the MAT application form for the same.  The candidates who fail to fulfil the eligibility criteria will not be eligible for the exam. The eligibility criteria for MAT 2024 is as given below:

Academic Qualification

  • Qualifying Exam: The candidates applying for MAT exam 2024 must have a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university. There is no minimum percentage required.
  • Appearing Candidates: The candidates who are appearing in the final year exams or waiting for their results will also be also eligible for MAT 2024

Age Limit

  • There is no lower or upper age limit applicable in the MAT 2024, i.e. there is no age restriction.

Number of Attempts

  • There is no set limit of the number of attempts that a student can make for qualifying the examination. A candidate can appear for the exam as many times as they want.

Minimum Qualifying Percentage

The minimum marks required to qualify the MAT 2024 differs according to the category of the student. The minimum marks required by different category candidates to crack the exam is tabulated below:

1. Northern Region

College/ Institute Eligibility Criteria

Jaipuria Institute of Management

  • Graduation in any stream with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45 % for SC/ST)
  • Students in final year may also apply

CHRIST University

  • An aggregate of 50% or above in graduation.
  • Candidates in final degree examinations are also eligible
  • A composite score of 500 or above in MAT

Fortune Institute of International Business

  • An aggregate of 50% or above in graduation.
  • Final year candidates can also apply

Asia Pacific Institute of Management

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from any recognized University
  • Candidates in the final year may also apply

2. Eastern Region

  • Graduate with a valid MAT score

IMS Business School, Kolkata

  • Valid MAT score
  • Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university

DMI, Patna

  • Minimum 3 years bachelor’s degree with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/DA candidates)
  • Valid MAT score
Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Kolkata
  1. Graduation with minimum 50% aggregate
  2. Final year students can also apply

3. Western Region

Institute/ College Eligibility Criteria

CHRIST University, Mumbai

  • 50% marks in graduation
  • Candidates in the final year may also apply but should have 50% or above in all semesters
  • A composite score of 500 or above in MAT

Faculty of Management Studies, Rajasthan

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA (45% FOR SC/ST)

ITM University, Chattisgarh

  • Graduation with 50% marks
  • Valid MAT score

Raipur Institute of Technology, Chattisgarh

  • Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks for general (45% for SC/ST and OBC)
  • Final year students may also apply

4. Southern Region

Institute/ College Eligibility Criteria

AIMS School of Business

  • 50% or above in graduation
  • 60 percentile in MAT
  • Individuals with a minimum of 1-year work experience will be preferred

Alliance School of Business

  • Bachelor’s with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST)
  • A high score in MAT

GIBS Business School, Bangalore

  • Minimum 50% in graduation
  • Final year students can also apply

MP Birla Institute of Management

  • Graduation with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST)
  • Good communication skills
  • Work experience will be an added advantage
