XAT Counselling 2023: Dates, Selection Process[Started] & More

After the XAT Result declaration, the exam authority XLRI Jamshedpur will tentatively announce the XAT selection procedure in February or March 2023. On clearing the result and surpassing the XAT Cut off will be called for XAT selection round, which comprises Group Discussion and Personal Interviews. Here we discuss XAT Counselling and XAT Selection Process.

 XLRI Selection Procedure

• Those who clear XAT Exam will have to register online separately for institutes such as SPJIMR, IMT, XIMB, and others, which they applied earlier through the XAT Application form.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds. In a personal interview, a candidate has to update their interview city with the officials for further process.
• Interview city should be timely updated; otherwise, the failure leads to rejection.

How to Update XAT Interview City

1. Visit the XAT official website.
2. Click on the tab ‘Update XAT Interview City.’
3. Enter the required credentials, i.e., XAT ID and Password.
4. Check and select and update your choice of interview city.

XAT – Group Discussion Round

• It consists of 8-10 participants to debate over one topic for 15-25 minutes.
• The Group Discussion committee checks the candidate’s command over the language, their way of communication, decision-making skills, content, confidence, business knowledge, leadership qualities, personality, entrepreneurship skills which give them away to think large in the business world.
• Besides all these traits and skills – a candidate’s relevant work experience, academic knowledge, XAT Scorecard, and extracurricular activities will also be under consideration for the final selection.
• As the name suggests – Group discussion. So it involves logical and mindful ability to give a thought over hypothetical situations where they have to debate and present their point coherently and concisely.  

XAT – Personal Interview Round

• It is designed to test the candidate’s area of expertise and their interest of knowledge with powerful communication skills, thought clarity, interpersonal and soft skills, and the ability to handle pressure.  

Documents Required for GD/PI Session

• Original  XAT Counselling letter along with a photocopy of counseling letter
• Original and Xerox of XAT 2023 Admit Card
• Bank draft as per the guidelines mentioned in the official brochure
• Academic Certificates (class X & XII; Bachelor’s Degree)
• XAT Rank Card
• Scorecard (if applicable)
• Caste Certificate
• Medical documents
• 4-6 Passport size photographs color and black and white
