SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2024: Age Limit, Qualification & More

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts a Combined Graduate Level (CGL) recruitment examination every year to select eligible candidates for numerous posts in ministries, departments, and organizations and for subordinate staff employment. SSC CGL Age Limit

  • Candidates applying for SSC CGL 2024 must not be less than 18 years and not more than 32 years of age (as of January 2024).

SSC CGL Age Relaxation

SSC also offers age relaxation to all reserved category applicants. Before applying the candidates must keep in mind the prescribed age limit, or else, their application form will be rejected. Given below is the relaxation of the upper age limit for the various categories.

Nationality

As per SCC CGL Eligibility Criteria, a candidate must be a resident of the prescribed states only, in order to be eligible to apply for the SSC CGL exam. An applicant must satisfy any one of the following conditions:

  • He/she must be a citizen of India, OR
  • He/she must be a subject of Bhutan/Nepal, OR
  • He/she must be a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before 1 January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling down in India, OR
  • He/she must be a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Uganda, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia, Zaire, and Vietnam with the intention of settling down permanently in India.

SSC CGL Educational Qualification

The basic academic requirement that candidates have to fulfill is to have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. There are some other criteria, such as a course of graduation & a minimum percentage that is applicable for different posts.

Statistical Investigator Grade II

  1. Basic Qualification:A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University or Institute with a minimum percentage or equivalent aggregate of 60% in Mathematics at a Higher Secondary (class 12th) level OR
  2. A Bachelor’s Degree from a well-recognized University with Statistics as one of the main subjects at the degree level.

Assistant Audit Officer

  1. Basic Qualification: A graduation degree from a recognized University or Institute.
  2. Additional Qualification: Chartered Accountant / Cost & Management Accountant / Company Secretary /Masters in Commerce/ Business Administration (Finance)/ Business Studies/ Business Economics.

Compiler

  1. Basic Qualification:A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized Institution with either Statistics or Mathematics or Economics as a compulsory or elective subject.

Assistant Section Officer (CSS)

  1. Basic Qualification: Graduation Degree from a recognized University.
  2. Additional Qualification:Additionally, candidates must also qualify for the Computer Proficiency Test (CPT).

Physical Fitness Requirement

Physical standards also vary for different posts.

For the Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/Preventive officer)

Male 157.5 Cm 81 cm with a minimum of 5 cm expansion. Note: The Garhwali, Gorkhas, Assamese, and ST Candidates have been given a relaxation of 5 cm.
Female 152 Cm 48 kgs. Note: The Garhwali, Gorkhas, Assamese, and ST candidates have been given a weight relaxation of 2 kgs.

Physical Test Standards

Before applying for SSC CGL, candidates must also check the Physical Standards as per the Physical Test.

Male Applicants will have to cover 1600 meters in 15 minutes Applicants will have to walk 8 km in 30 minutes.
