UPTET 2021 Update:

UPBEB (Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board), the examination authority for UPTET would be releasing the UPTET 2021 notification soon. Note that, the pandemic forced the UP government to postpone the UPTET 2020. Insiders tell us that the UPTET 2021 exam would undergo in Oct 2021. However, the UP government has earlier stated that the TET exam is scheduled for December 2021. Watch the space to stay current on all the latest developments in UPTET 2021.


UPTET Exam (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) is a coveted exam for the residents of Uttar Pradesh seeking a career in teaching. The UPBEB (Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board) is responsible for carrying out the state-level exam each year. It aims to induct Primary and Upper Primary Level teachers in UP government schools. While the actual dates for the UP TET exam 2021 aren’t available as yet, the exam is tentatively scheduled for October 2021.
UPTET exam has two papers, 1 and 2. Paper 1 is mandatory for teachers interested in teaching primary classes (1 to 5) . Likewise, Paper 2 ensures eligibility for teaching classes 6 to 8. If teaching classes 1 to 8 is a priority, the candidate requires clearing both papers. UPBEB carries out both papers in a single day. The mode is offline. UPTET 2021 Exam Dates

UPTET exam notification was earlier scheduled for release on May 11, 2021. However, the release was stalled due to UP experiencing a surge in COVID 19 cases. UPBEB, the examination authority for UPTET would release only when the curve flattens, perhaps in October 2021. The UPTET notification is a key document featuring every information a candidate requires knowing. This includes, but, not limited to:

Each successful candidate is entitled to a UPTET eligibility certificate upon result declaration. How to Apply for UPTET 2021?

Once the application process gets underway, the candidates can apply for UPTET 2021, online. Check below to know how to Apply UPTET Application Form 2021.

The UPTET Application Form may be filled in Four Steps. 

1: Online Registration

  • It all gets underway when you log into the UPTET Official Website
  • The next step involves filling in all the required information like Name, Educational Qualification, Personal Details, and more.
  • Uploading the latest passport size Photograph and Signature should be done next.
  • The process ends with the candidate choosing the district at the time of UPTET Registration. The choice of the district would determine the candidate’s test-centre location.

2. Application Fee

Candidates can pay the Application Fee in the Online mode.

3. Document Upload

  • Once the UP TET Application Fee is paid, candidates must upload the required documents, such as photograph, signature, identity proof, and intermediate mark sheet.
  • Candidates who seek participation in a reserved category need to upload required documents or certification before the last date of application form submission.
  • Once candidates paid the application fee, then they need to mention bank transaction Id (Which is provided by the Bank), Registration Number, Date of birth while submitting the application form.

4: Print the Application Form

Candidates must take a printout of the UPTET online application form and save it for future use. To get a printout, do as follows:

  • Log in with Application ID and Password
  • Once done, the Application Form will be Appear on the Computer Screen
  • Hit the “download” icon to download the Application Form
  • Click the “print” option to get a printout

UPTET Education Qualification

Here’s the UPTET Eligibility Criteria for Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Qualification for Primary Teachers ( Class 1-5)

  • A graduate or any student in the 2nd Year of BTC is eligible.
  • At least 50% marks in the intermediate examination are required.
  • Anyone who has completed graduation or is in the final years of D.Ed is eligible.
  • The final year students of B.EL.ED can apply.
  • Anyone with a graduation degree or in the final year of the diploma can apply.

Qualification for Primary teachers ( Class 6-8)

Let’s elaborate on the UPTET Qualification for Primary Teachers for Class 6 to 8th.

  • Any graduate or a student of the 2nd Year of BTC can apply.
  • At least 50% marks in the intermediate examination are a requisite.
  • Any graduate or a student of the final years of D.Ed are eligible.
  • Anyone studying in the final year B.EL.ED can appear.
  • Graduates or students of the final year in the diploma are free to apply.
  • Students of the final year of B.EL.ED are eligible.

UPTET Age Limit

To apply for the Exam, the Age of the Candidates must be in between 18 years to 35 years. However, age relaxation rules apply for different categories as per the government guidelines.

UPTET Registration Form Pattern

UPTET Exam Pattern

UPBEB (Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board), the exam regulatory authority for UPTET has put a UPTET Exam Pattern in place. Candidates need to be aware of the pattern.

  • The authority will organize it via online mode only.
  • The question paper can be read and attempted in English and Hindi (Except language Subjects))
  • The question paper contains MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions)
  • Negative marking isn’t applicable.
  • A total of 150 Questions will be asked in the UPTET Examination.
  • Each Correct Answer earns the candidate 1 mark.

UPTET Syllabus 2021

The UPTET Exam consists of two sections, Paper I & II. Paper 1 is mandatory for teachers interested in teaching primary classes (1 to 5). UPTET Admit Card 2021

UPBEB, typically, releases the UPTET Admit Card 15 days prior to the examination. Candidates can download the same from the official website. It’s easy and quick, provided the following steps are followed:

  1. Visit the official website of UPTET
  2. Click on Admit Card link
  3. Provide all the necessary details- Registration Number and Date of Birth
  4. Hit the “Submit” Button
  5. UPTET Admit Card would appear on the screen
  6. Take a printout by hitting the “print” button

UPTET Result 2021

The UPTET Result will be released within a few months of the exam. The result will be displayed on the official website of the UPTET, and the UPTET Answer Key will be released in December 2020, below we discuss the steps to download the UPTET Result;

Candidates may also get a copy of the UPTET OMR Sheet by paying the Fee or DD of Rs. 500/- in the favour of “Secretary, Examination Controller Officer”.

UPTET Answer Key 2021

The UPTET Answer Key will be released in November 2019, Candidates can download the UPTET Answer Key from the Official website of UPTET.

UPTET Selection Process 2021

Candidates who secured 60% marks for General Category and 55% for ST/ST and OBC category candidates will qualify for the UPTET, the qualifying marks are listed below, check below;

UPTET Cut off 2021

Cut off is the minimum marks required to qualify for the UPTET Examination which is decided by the conducting authority as per the various factors, that are the number of students appear in the Examination, seats applied, marks obtained by the candidates in the examination.

The UPTET Cutoff will be determined as the following conditions;

  • General Category Candidates who secure 60% marks in the examination will qualify for the UPTET Examination.
  • Qualifying Marks for The OBC/SC/ST and PWD candidates is 55%.

UPTET Qualifying Marks

The Qualifying Marks for General category candidates who score 60% or above would be considered qualified for the exam, and the Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC) need to score 55% to qualify for the exam.
