Named after the creator and founder of the Indian constitution, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship scheme is sponsored by the center and provided by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship 2021-2022: An Overview

This scholarship scheme was implemented for specific state or union territories like Tripura, Haryana, and Chandigarh. Both the state and the center fund the scholarship at a ratio of 75 to 25. This scholarship is devoted to the Denotified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT), which do not fall into the SC, ST, and OBC. This scheme is devoted to providing financial assistance to students from these communities to help them continue their education.

1. Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship, Chandigarh

This scholarship is provided by the government of Chandigarh for the welfare of students belonging to the economically backward classes to provide financial aid to the meritorious students of the region. It covers aid for services like maintenance fees, tuition fees, non-refundable fees, and other such charges. Only candidates who are permanent residents of Chandigarh are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The candidates applying for this scholarship must be studying at a recognized institution in Chandigarh. The applicant’s family income must not be more than INR 1 lakh per annum.

2. Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship, Haryana

This scholarship is provided by the government of Haryana for the welfare of the students belonging to the economically backward classes, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, DNT, Tapriwas Jati, etc., to provide financial aid to the meritorious students of the state. It covers aid for services like maintenance fees, tuition fees, non-refundable fees, and other such charges. Only candidates who are permanent residents of Haryana are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

The candidates can get financial aid of INR 8000 to INR 12000 per annum. The candidates applying for this scholarship must be studying in class 11 through post-graduation in a recognized institution in Chandigarh. The family income of the applicant must not be more than INR 4 LPA per annum.

3. Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship, Tripura

This scholarship is provided by the government of Tripura for the welfare of the students belonging to the economically backward classes to provide financial aid to the meritorious students of the region. It covers aid for services like maintenance fees, tuition fees, non-refundable fees, and other such charges.

Only candidates who are permanent residents of the state of Tripura are eligible for this scholarship. The candidates applying for this scholarship must be pursuing education at the post-matriculation level at a government-recognized institution in Tripura. The applicant’s family income cannot exceed INR 1 lakh per year.

4. Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship, Punjab

This scholarship is provided by the government of Punjab for the welfare of the students belonging to the economically backward classes to provide financial aid to the meritorious students of the region. It covers aid for services like maintenance fees, tuition fees, non-refundable fees, and other such charges. Only candidates with permanent residence in Punjab are eligible for these scholarship benefits. The candidates applying for this scholarship must belong to the SC or OBC category and be studying at the post-matric level. The applicant’s family income cannot exceed INR 1 lakh per year.
