JEE Main Counselling 2024, Allotment Process, Schedule & More

JEE Main Counselling 2024 is conducted following the declaration of the session 2 result. It involves the release of the JEE Main admission cutoff and is categorized into two main types: JoSAA Counselling and CSAB Counselling. JEE Main Counselling 2024

  • The counselling process will be organized only online. JoSAA will be responsible for JEE Main Counselling 2024.
  • JoSAA conducts counselling for both the JEE Main Exam and the JEE Advanced.
  • CSAB NEUT is organized for supernumerary North East and Union Territories seats.
  • CSAB SFTI is an exclusive counselling process organized by the Central Seat Allocation Board for 18 SFTIs.
  • The participating institutes in the counselling are- 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and 27 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes.

JEE Main Counselling Schedule

JEE Main Counselling Procedure

The counselling procedure is divided into various steps. Here we have listed all the steps with detailed information:

1. Online Registration

To participate in the JEE main Counselling procedure, the candidates must register themselves for counselling. Candidates can register by visiting the official website of JoSAA. Log in through your JEE Main roll number and password and then fill all the necessary details into the registration form. Once you have filled in all the details carefully, click on the “Confirm Registration” button.

2. Choice Filling & Locking

The most important step for candidates is the choice filling. In this step, the candidates need to choose which college they want to apply for. Once you have carefully selected your choices, click on the save choice button. You must remember that JoSAA 2024 choice filling has to be done within specified dates.

3. Provisional Seat Allotment

A provisional seat will be allotted to the candidates according to their filled choices.  Candidates need to take a printout of the “Provisional Seat Allocation Letter” and draft an e-challan for seat acceptance. If you want to participate in the next round, then you must freeze your seats allotted to you in this first round.

4. Seat Acceptance & Fee Payment

The general candidates need to pay Rs 45000/-for the seat acceptance, whereas a reserved category candidate needs to pay Rs. 20,000/- for the same. The acceptance fee can be paid via e-challan & SBI net banking. Those who have paid the acceptance fee through e-challan must take a printout for future reference.

6. Reporting to the Allotted College

If a seat is allotted to a candidate, they must reach the allotted college for confirmation and carry their original documents. We have listed the documents that a student must carry with them for verification:
